What it does
What is GoalRunner?
GoalRunner tells you what you owe, what you are owed, and when you are finished with everything it watches — and shows you the evidence behind every word. It reads the sources you connect, keeps track of the open loops in them, and brings you one thing at a time with the reason it came first.
Is this a replacement for my inbox?
No. Your mail stays where it is. GoalRunner is not a second inbox to keep tidy — it does not ask you to file, sort, or browse. It reads what arrives and tells you the few things that need a decision. Every one of them opens the underlying conversation in Gmail, one press away.
How is this different from an AI assistant built into my email?
A mail tool reorders a list you were going to read anyway. GoalRunner takes a position: it states that these are the things that need you and that nothing else it watches is at risk right now — and it shows you the messages it set aside and why, so you can check it. The thing your mail cannot do is notice the reply that never arrived.
What happens on a day when nothing is wrong?
It says so, and it stops. “Nothing in your mail needs you” is a normal output, not a failure to find something. A product that always has something for you is a product that will eventually make something up.
Data, privacy and authorization
What does GoalRunner actually read?
The mail in the Gmail account you connect, including your own sent messages — because a promise you made is usually in something you wrote. GoalRunner works out what you owe from message text, and records that an attachment exists with its name, type and size. When you open a conversation that has an attachment, GoalRunner fetches the file from Gmail so it can put a working download in front of you. It does not open, read or interpret what is inside, and it keeps no copy. A file over its size limit is never requested at all. On the forwarding path, attachment contents are never stored at all.
Can GoalRunner send email on my behalf?
No. It can prepare a draft with the conversation's context already in it. You read it and you press send. Nothing leaves your account that you did not send.
Does it do anything to my mailbox on its own — archiving, labelling, replying?
No. Nothing happens in your mailbox that you did not press. GoalRunner can carry out a set of Gmail operations — applying and removing labels, marking read or unread, starring, moving a conversation to Trash or bringing it back, and creating, updating or sending a draft — and it does each one only at the moment you press it to, inside the product. It never acts on the mailbox on its own, on a schedule, or in the background. And the everyday case is narrower still: marking an obligation done records the outcome in GoalRunner and changes nothing in Gmail at all.
Is my mail used to train AI models?
No. In the words of our published privacy policy: we do not use your mail to train any model, and we do not send it to anyone for that purpose. What does happen is that GoalRunner sends the text of a message to OpenAI's API to work out whether it contains an obligation and to whom — OpenAI acts as our service provider for that step and returns the answer to us. Your information is never sold, and it is not used to build a product for anyone else. The privacy page names every third party that receives any of it, and we would rather you read it than take a slogan for it.
Who at UnKAnscious can see my mail?
Access follows least privilege and explicit authorization, and during Private Alpha support and debugging are done by the company's own people. There is one case where a person reads mail deliberately, and you should know about it before you connect anything: to check whether GoalRunner's claims are actually right, we keep frozen copies of real mail from connected mailboxes in a private, access-controlled store inside our own Google Cloud project, and compare what the product said against what the mail says. That involves a person reading mail. We do it only for a mailbox whose owner has agreed to it, never for anyone else's, and you can ask us at any time whether any of your mail is held that way. It is set out on the privacy page rather than left for you to discover.
Do you have SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA compliance?
No. UnKAnscious holds no security certifications today, and we will not imply otherwise while a page is easier to write than an audit is to pass. What we can show you is how the product is built and what it is allowed to do. If a certification is a condition of you using it, tell us — that is useful information and we would rather hear it early.
What happens if I stop using it? How do I get my data deleted?
Three separate things, and the honest answer is not the tidy one. Disconnecting Gmail in Settings deletes the credential we hold, so GoalRunner cannot open your mailbox again until you reconnect it. Revoking our access at Google — myaccount.google.com/permissions — is the authoritative way to end it, and it stops GoalRunner reaching your mailbox even if something on our side failed. Deletion is a third step, and you have to ask for it. Disconnecting does not by itself delete what GoalRunner has already recorded: the metadata, the understanding and the quotations stay in your workspace so reconnecting does not start you from nothing. There is no automatic deletion schedule and we are not going to invent one — deletion is done by hand, by us, when you email us, and we confirm in writing when it is done. Scope and integrations
What can I connect?
Gmail. That is the whole list today. Other sources — a calendar, other mail systems — are the intended direction, and none of them is available now. GoalRunner never claims anything about a source it cannot read.
Does it sync with my CRM, or with the other tools I use?
No. There is no CRM integration, no export into another system, and no automation between tools. If the thing you need tracked lives in a system GoalRunner cannot read, it will not be tracked — and it is better that you know that now.
Can my team use it? Can I see what my staff owe?
Not today. GoalRunner works on one person's mailbox and reports on that person's obligations — what you owe and what you are owed. It does not report on other people's commitments and there is no shared queue, no delegation, and no manager view.
I use Outlook. Can I use GoalRunner?
Not yet. Gmail is the only mail system GoalRunner reads today.
What about the things I agree to on the phone or in person?
GoalRunner will not know about them, and it will not pretend to. It makes claims only about what it can read. This is why its statement that you are finished is always bounded: finished with respect to the mail it watches, not finished with your life.
Access and price
How do I get access?
Ask. Private Alpha access is granted one account at a time so each person gets real attention during setup.
What does it cost?
There is no published price yet. Pricing will be set with the first customers rather than announced at them, and we will tell you what you would pay before you are asked to decide anything.
Is there a free trial?
There is no self-serve trial. Private Alpha is not a trial funnel — it is a small number of accounts we set up and watch closely.
